ANALISIS PENGARUH JENIS ELBOW TERHADAP PERFORMA POMPA GANDER-DENVER TYPE FXD - 172 DI GATERING STATION KE MAIN GATERING STATION PERTAMINA
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of elbow types on pump performance and flow rate, particularly focusing on elbow components that cause pressure losses (head loss). In the reciprocating pump Gardner-Denver Type FXD-172 used to transfer crude oil from the Gathering Station (GS) to the Main Gathering Station (MGS), elbows with different radii (Long, Medium, and Short) potentially affect the flow rate and overall pump performance. The research methodology employs a comparative quantitative approach with a case study of the FXD-172 pump piping system at PT Pertamina EP Sangatta Field. Primary data were obtained through field observations, measurements of flow rate and pressure, as well as the number and types of elbows used, while secondary data were collected from journals and technical documents. calculations include pipe cross-sectional area, flow velocity, Reynolds number, major head loss, minor head loss, static head, total head loss, pressure drop, flow rate, and pump efficiency. The results show that elbow type has a significant influence on flow losses. Short-radius elbows produce the highest head loss, followed by medium-radius elbows, while long-radius elbows result in the lowest head loss. The conclusion of this study is that the selection of elbow type greatly affects pump performance
