Abstract
The use of organic fertilizer is very important in sustainable agricultural efforts because it can increase soil fertility without causing negative impacts on the environment. However, the manual process of mixing organic fertilizers takes a lot of time and energy, so an efficient and effective mixing tool is needed. This study aims to design and create an organic fertilizer mixing machine with a capacity of 20 kg per batch, which can simplify the mixing process and increase farmer productivity. This machine uses a 50 liter drum with a diameter of 35 cm and a length of 60 cm as a mixing container. The drum is connected to a 0.5 hp electric motor with a speed of 1400 rpm as the main driving source. The machine frame is made of 3x3 cm hollow steel to ensure strength and stability. In the design process, an analysis of the transmission system and the efficiency and effectiveness of mixing was carried out to ensure optimal machine performance. The test results showed that this machine was able to mix organic fertilizer well in a short time, about 5 minutes per batch. The mixing efficiency level reached 90% with good homogeneity of the mixture. It is hoped that the use of this machine can help the community improve the quality and quantity of their organic fertilizer production.
