Abstract

Growth population in urban areas was proportionally with food commodities and inversely with land availability. One solution that can be implemented for sufficient food is urban farming with vertical farming using a hydroponic method. Environmental factors that affect the fine result of plants are exposure of sun. In limited land, in terms to increase the mobility of urban farming activity requires the addition of equipment. This research focused on equipment development with frame append to place components in urban farming to gain more exposure with upgrading the flexibility. The frame was designed used hollow square structural steel with thickness variations of 1.2 mm; 1.4 mm; 1.6 mm; 1.8 mm which is simulated used a mass of 50 kg; 200 kg; 400 kg; and 800 kg. Numerical analysis was done by ANSYS Workbench 2024. From the analysis, almost all of the various material thicknesses gained minimum safety factor and meets the requirements for static load for the several masses distribution.
