Abstract

Plastic is widely used for the production of electronic devices. One of them is ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) and PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate). The aim of this research is to design a device of plastic welding of electronics component that used ABS and PMMA as its materials. Besides that, the research is to obtain the pressure, time and temperature to reach the optimum welding parameter for the electronics components. The design procedure starts from planning, development and validation. The device has been built and tested. The result of the device was effective for welding the electronics components with 0.20 MPa pressure, 10 seconds of welding time and 240°C of welding temperature.
