BUDIKDAMBER TRAINING FOR WOMEN FARMER GROUPS AS AN EFFORT TO IMPROVE COMMUNITY FOOD SECURITY

Food security is a global issue that continues to become a challenge for communities, especially in areas with limited land and household economic constraints. One effort that can be implemented to support family food security is the application of Budikdamber (fish cultivation in buckets), which integrates fish and vegetable cultivation on a household scale. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of the Tunas Makmur Women Farmer Group (KWT) in utilizing yard land through Budikdamber training and mentoring. The activity was carried out using a participatory educational approach involving 30 members of KWT Tunas Makmur in Tanggul Angin Village, Punggur District. The implementation stages included partner problem identification, program planning, training and mentoring, and monitoring and evaluation. The training activities included assistance in making the Budikdamber system, selecting catfish seeds, and managing Budikdamber cultivation. The results showed that the training had a positive impact on participants’ knowledge, skills, and sustainability aspects, with average scores of 4.53, 4.23, and 4.00, respectively. Participants demonstrated increased understanding of Budikdamber management, fish seed selection, and water quality maintenance to optimize catfish growth. In addition, the program encouraged productive utilization of yard land and strengthened community awareness regarding household food security. Therefore, Budikdamber training and mentoring can become an effective strategy to support sustainable family food security and community economic empowerment.

HANDMADE CRAFT PRODUCTION GUIDANCE HAMPERS BOX IN BANJAR REJO VILLAGE BATANGHARI EAST LAMPUNG

As the number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia grows, packaging crafts, one of which is box baskets, has become a profitable business opportunity. Facing the increasingly advanced development of the laundry business with a growing number of enthusiasts, starting this activity does not require a large amount of capital. Box baskets are also frequently ordered during certain occasions such as religious holidays such as Eid al-Fitr and Christmas, weddings, engagements, cuttings, births, and graduations. The results of the study were conducted at Mr. Karyono's house located on Jl. Ki Hajar Dewantara, SMK Taruna Bumi Gang, Menur 2 Hamlet, RT/RW 16 Mei, Banjar Rejo Village, Batang Hari District, East Lampung Regency, Lampung Province on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM WIB. The interns were students living near Mr. Karyono's house. Based on the analysis of responses to the entrepreneurship questionnaire distributed to 13 training participants, 90.9% (10 people) responded very positively to the training and 9.1% (1 participant) responded positively to this active training. They hope that the same training can be continued in the future. The purpose of holding this Entrepreneur role is: Knowing the right techniques to change the way of making Hampers Boxes dance, Knowing the marketing strategy for promoting Box Hampers to be popular in the community and Social Networks to be more familiar. TRAINING AND EMPOWERMENT IN INDEPENDENT LIQUID DETERGENT SOAP MAKING FOR HOUSEHOLD SKILLS AND COMMUNITY ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Community empowerment through practical skill-based training has become an important strategy in improving household economic resilience and encouraging community independence. This community service activity aimed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial awareness of the Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Mulyojati RT 11 RW 03, Metro Barat, through training in independent liquid detergent soap production. The activity was conducted from July to September 2025 using a participatory approach consisting of four stages: preliminary observation, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The implementation involved socialization, demonstrations, direct practice, mentoring, and evaluation of participant understanding. The results showed that participants experienced increased knowledge regarding detergent composition, production techniques, and household business opportunities. Participants were able to independently produce liquid detergent soap using affordable and easily accessible materials. In addition, the activity increased participants’ awareness of household financial efficiency and encouraged entrepreneurial motivation among women in the community. The training also strengthened collaboration between universities and local communities in implementing sustainable empowerment programs. This program demonstrates that skill-based community empowerment can become an effective strategy to improve economic productivity, foster creativity, and support sustainable household entrepreneurship.

TRAINING ON ECO-ENZYME PRODUCTION FROM VEGETABLE WASTE AS AN ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FERTILIZER FOR WOMEN FARMER GROUPS

Organic waste generated from traditional markets and household activities continues to pose environmental challenges due to inadequate waste management practices. In Mulyojati Village, Metro City, large quantities of vegetable waste are commonly discarded without further utilization, causing unpleasant odors and environmental pollution. In addition, members of the Women Farmer Group (Kelompok Wanita Tani/KWT) had limited knowledge regarding the conversion of organic waste into value-added products. Therefore, this community service program aimed to improve participants’ knowledge and practical skills in producing eco-enzyme from vegetable waste as an environmentally friendly liquid fertilizer. The program was implemented through participatory training consisting of socialization sessions, demonstrations, hands-on practice, mentoring, and evaluation activities. The participants were members of KWT RW 003 Mulyojati Village, Metro Barat District, Metro City. Training materials covered the benefits of eco-enzyme, raw material preparation, fermentation procedures, and practical applications in agriculture. The results indicated that participants actively engaged throughout the training process and successfully produced eco-enzyme using locally available vegetable waste. Participants demonstrated improved understanding of organic waste management and recognized the environmental and economic benefits of eco-enzyme production. Furthermore, the activity promoted environmentally responsible behavior and encouraged the utilization of household organic waste for sustainable agriculture. This program concludes that eco-enzyme training is an effective community empowerment strategy for improving environmental awareness, strengthening practical skills, and supporting sustainable waste management practices among women farmer groups.
