Abstract
Late behavior is behavior that does not correspond to the time or exceeds a predetermined time. This habit of being late for students will result in less smooth learning activities and can reduce student learning outcomes. To help students reduce their late habits, researchers are trying to apply behavior contract techniques. Behavior contract is a technique of agreement between counselor and counselor to change certain behaviors in counselors and to receive rewards for that behavior. This contract confirms the expectations and responsibilities that must be fulfilled and their consequences. The purpose of this study was to reduce the late behavior of students coming to school and find factors that cause students to be late for school and obtain problem solving to reduce the habit of late behavior of students at SMK Negeri 1 Metro This study used a type of case study in class XI BDP students which was carried out at SMK Negeri 1 Metro with 6 research subjects. In research, the methods used are interview and observation methods. The data is analyzed descriptively qualitatively by looking at the results after using the behavior contract. The results of the calculation of the average late behavior score of students coming to school before being given action using the behavior contract technique the frequency of delay reached 57, after being given the first treatment with the behavior contract technique the frequency of delays decreased to 22 and in the second treatment the frequency of delays decreased to 5. Thus, it can be concluded that the behavior contract is very effectively used to reduce the late behavior of students of SMK Negeri 1 Metro for the 2019/2020 Academic Year.
