Abstract

This study aims to improve the creativity and learning interest of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Notoharjo through the use of leaf collage in art education. The research employed a descriptive quantitative method with data collection techniques comprising observation, questionnaires, rubrics, and documentation. The research subjects included 14 fifth-grade students selected through total sampling.The results showed a significant improvement in students' creativity and learning interest. Observations revealed that students were actively engaged in creating leaf collages, producing various artworks such as images of animals, flowers, and landscapes. The students demonstrated increased originality, composition, and attention to aesthetics in their work. Questionnaire results indicated that most students responded positively, with 78% categorized as "Good" and 12% as "Very Good" in terms of creativity and interest. The study concluded that incorporating leaf collage as a teaching medium effectively enhances students' creativity, critical thinking, and engagement in learning activities. Additionally, it fosters an appreciation for natural resources and environmental awareness among students. This approach can be recommended as an innovative and engaging method for art education in elementary schools.
