The Implementation of Quizizz Learning Media on Science Learning Outcomes of Fifth-Grade Students at SD Negeri 3 Siraman
Implementasi Media Pembelajaran Quizizz Terhadap Hasil Belajar IPA Siswa Kelas 5 SD Negeri 3 Siraman
Abstract
This classroom action research aimed to analyze the effectiveness of Quizizz in enhancing students' science learning outcomes. The study involved 22 fifth-grade students from SD Negeri 3 Siraman in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research was conducted in two cycles, each covering different science topics: Plant Structure and Function, and Photosynthesis. Students took a pretest before instruction and a posttest afterward. Quizizz was used as an interactive learning tool, providing digital quizzes and video-based explanations. Data analysis utilized simple statistical methods to compare pretest and posttest scores. The results from Cycle 1 showed that before using Quizizz, 14% of students did not meet the minimum competency standard (KKM). After using Quizizz, 100% of students passed, indicating significant improvement. In Cycle 2, pretest results showed that only 45% of students passed, but posttest results demonstrated a complete success rate, with all students achieving scores above KKM. The average pretest score increased from 51.19 in Cycle 1 to 66.36 in Cycle 2, while the posttest scores improved from 73.41 to 78.86. In conclusion, the study confirmed that Quizizz effectively enhances students' science learning outcomes. The engaging, interactive features of Quizizz helped students grasp complex concepts more effectively, leading to substantial cognitive improvements. These findings suggest that digital learning platforms like Quizizz can be valuable tools in primary education to support active and engaging learning experiences.
