Use of Generative AI Tools

Sciencestatistics: Journal of Statistics, Probability and Its Aplications recognizes the increasing use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and similar systems in academic writing. The journal supports responsible and transparent use of such tools under the following conditions:

  1. Permitted Use
Authors may use GenAI tools only to improve language clarity, grammar, or formatting of their manuscripts. The use of GenAI for idea generation, data analysis, conceptual development, or drawing scientific conclusions is strictly prohibited.

  2. Disclosure Requirement
If GenAI tools are used in any stage of manuscript preparation, authors must clearly acknowledge their use in the “Acknowledgement” or “Methodology” section of the article, specifying the purpose (e.g., language editing).

  3. Authorship Responsibility
GenAI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. Full responsibility for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of the content remains with the human authors.

  4. Peer Review and Editorial Process
Editors and reviewers are also expected to adhere to ethical guidelines in using GenAI tools. Such tools may only be used for language assistance and not for evaluating scientific content or originality.

  5. Ethical Compliance
Any undisclosed or inappropriate use of GenAI that affects the integrity of the work may lead to manuscript rejection, retraction, or other editorial actions in accordance with COPE guidelines.
