Licensing Policy

All articles published under the open-access policy of Counseling Milenial (CM) are made available to readers in accordance with the journal's applicable open-access and licensing terms.

Unless otherwise specified on an individual article page, articles published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License may be read, downloaded, copied, redistributed, translated, adapted, and reused, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate attribution is given and the terms of the license are followed.

Authors retain copyright in their published articles, subject to the publication agreement and applicable licensing terms. The license grants the public permission to use the licensed content without requiring additional permission from the journal for uses already authorized by the license.

1. Permitted Use

Under the CC BY 4.0 License, users may share, copy, redistribute, remix, transform, translate, and build upon licensed content in any medium or format for any purpose, including educational, research, and commercial purposes.

These permissions are subject to compliance with the license conditions, particularly appropriate attribution, provision of a link to the license, and an indication of whether changes have been made.

Users do not need to obtain additional permission or pay a separate licensing fee to Counseling Milenial (CM) for uses already permitted under CC BY 4.0.

Adapted materials do not have to be distributed under the same license. However, users must not impose legal or technological restrictions that prevent others from exercising the rights granted by the original license.

2. Attribution Requirements

When reusing material published in Counseling Milenial (CM) under the CC BY 4.0 License, users must:

  • Give appropriate credit to the original author or authors and identify Counseling Milenial (CM) as the original publication source.

  • Include the article title, author names, publication year, journal title, volume and issue, page numbers or article number, and DOI or source URL, where available.

  • Provide a link to the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/.

  • Indicate whether changes, adaptations, translations, or other modifications have been made.

  • Avoid suggesting that the original authors, journal, or publisher endorse the reuse or adaptation unless explicit permission has been granted.

  • Avoid imposing additional restrictions that prevent others from exercising the rights granted by the license.

Attribution should be provided in a reasonable manner appropriate to the medium, format, and context of reuse.

3. Third-Party Materials and License Scope

Some articles may contain photographs, illustrations, instruments, questionnaires, scales, tables, figures, or other materials belonging to third parties. Such materials may be excluded from the article's CC BY 4.0 license when a separate copyright notice or credit statement indicates different terms.

Users are responsible for checking the copyright status and applicable licensing conditions of third-party materials before reproducing or adapting them.

The CC BY 4.0 License does not automatically grant rights beyond its scope, including patent, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights. Uses permitted independently by applicable law or materials in the public domain remain subject to the relevant legal provisions.

4. License Validity and Transparency

The CC BY 4.0 License granted to a published article is not automatically revoked merely because the article is subsequently corrected, retracted, or removed from the journal website. Users must continue to comply with the applicable license terms when using material covered by that license.

Counseling Milenial (CM) aims to display accurate licensing information on article landing pages and within published article files. License information should clearly identify the applicable license and provide a link to its official terms.

Previously published articles must retain accurate licensing information reflecting the terms applicable to their publication. A subsequent change to the journal's website or licensing policy does not, by itself, automatically change the license previously granted to existing articles.

5. License Information

The Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License permits the sharing and adaptation of licensed material for any purpose, including commercial use, provided that the applicable attribution and other license requirements are met.
