Decoding: Jurnal Mahasiswa KPI recognizes the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to support academic research and scholarly manuscript preparation. AI tools may assist authors with language editing, proofreading, literature exploration, data analysis, and other supporting activities. However, AI cannot replace human intellectual contributions, critical thinking, creativity, or responsibility for scholarly work.
Authors may use AI tools to assist with manuscript preparation, provided that all AI-assisted content is carefully reviewed, verified, and validated by the authors. AI tools must not be used to fabricate or manipulate research data, generate false or misleading references, plagiarize existing publications, or replace the authors' essential intellectual contributions.
AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of submitted manuscripts. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, authenticity, and academic integrity of their work.
Authors must disclose the use of generative AI tools that contribute substantively to manuscript preparation, including content generation, data analysis, interpretation, or other significant research-related activities.
The disclosure should identify the AI tool used and clearly explain its purpose. This information must be included in the Acknowledgments section or presented as a separate declaration within the manuscript.
Routine spelling, grammar, and language corrections generally do not require disclosure.
Reviewers and editors of Decoding: Jurnal Mahasiswa KPI are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of submitted manuscripts and unpublished research materials.
Reviewers and editors must not upload confidential manuscripts, unpublished research data, or other sensitive information to unauthorized AI platforms. Furthermore, AI tools must not replace independent academic judgment or be used to delegate substantive peer-review evaluations and editorial decisions.
All editorial and peer-review decisions must remain under human responsibility and oversight.
All manuscripts submitted to Decoding: Jurnal Mahasiswa KPI undergo the journal's established editorial screening and peer-review procedures.
Any suspected violation of this AI policy will be evaluated fairly and objectively by the editorial team. Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, appropriate actions may include requests for clarification, manuscript revision, rejection, or other editorial measures consistent with publication ethics.
AI-detection tools may be used as supporting instruments during editorial evaluation; however, their results alone shall not be considered conclusive evidence of academic misconduct.
This policy may be periodically reviewed and updated to reflect technological developments, ethical considerations, and internationally recognized best practices in scholarly publishing.
