Review Policy

Review Policy

1. Initial Editorial Screening

All manuscripts submitted to DECODING Jurnal Mahasiswa KPI undergo an initial evaluation by the editorial board to assess their suitability for the journal’s scope, originality, novelty, scientific quality, adequacy of data, and compliance with the journal’s formatting requirements. Manuscripts that meet these criteria are sent for peer review.

2. Peer Review Process

The journal applies a double-anonymous peer-review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other. Each manuscript is independently evaluated by at least two qualified reviewers with relevant expertise.

Reviewers assess the manuscript’s scientific merit, originality, methodological rigor, relevance, and contribution to the field of Islamic communication and broadcasting. Reviewers must declare any potential conflicts of interest and maintain the confidentiality of the manuscripts they evaluate.

3. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers’ reports and recommendations, the editor makes a decision to accept, request revisions, or reject the manuscript. Revised manuscripts may undergo further evaluation by the editor and/or reviewers before a final decision is made. The final publication decision rests with the editor.

If a manuscript is deemed unsuitable for publication, the authors will receive notification of the decision and, where appropriate, an explanation of the reasons.

4. Reviewer Selection

Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, research experience, and publication record relevant to the manuscript. Authors may recommend potential reviewers in their cover letter and identify individuals they wish to exclude from consideration during submission. The editorial team evaluates these requests objectively and retains full authority over reviewer selection. Recommended reviewers will not be appointed if a conflict of interest is identified.

5. Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system via the DECODING Jurnal Mahasiswa KPI e-journal portal. Authors must register and submit their manuscripts using the Author role.

The journal accepts two types of manuscripts: Original Research Articles and Review Articles.
