Publication Ethics
Edunomia: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Ekonomi is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all necessary steps to prevent and address any form of publication malpractice. The editorial team holds primary responsibility for ensuring the integrity, transparency, and quality of the publication process. Any form of unethical behavior, including plagiarism and other types of academic misconduct, is strictly prohibited.
By submitting a manuscript to Edunomia, authors confirm that their work is original and has not been previously published, either in whole or in part, in any language. Authors also declare that the manuscript is not currently under consideration by any other journal.
All parties involved in the publication process—editors, authors, and reviewers—are expected to adhere to established ethical standards in scholarly publishing, as guided by the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics Code of Conduct and Core Practices.
1. Reviewing Procedure
1.1 Peer Reviewers
Edunomia: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Ekonomi implements a double-blind peer review system for all submitted manuscripts. Each manuscript is typically reviewed by at least one or two reviewers who have relevant expertise in the field. Reviewers work independently and are not aware of each other’s identities, nor the identity of the authors.
Reviewers are selected based on their academic competence and must not have any conflict of interest with the authors, including being from the same institution or having recent research collaborations. The journal does not accept reviewer suggestions from authors.
The main purpose of the peer review process is to support the Editorial Board in making publication decisions, while also helping authors improve the quality and clarity of their manuscripts.
1.2 Peer Review Process
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the editorial team to assess their compliance with the journal’s scope and formatting guidelines. Only manuscripts that pass this stage will be sent for peer review.
Under normal circumstances, the review process takes approximately 4–8 weeks. The total time from submission to publication may vary depending on the revision process and editorial decisions.
During the review process, the Editor-in-Chief may request additional data or supporting materials from the authors if needed. All such materials will be treated confidentially and used solely for evaluation purposes.
1.3 Resolving Review Discrepancies
If authors raise well-founded concerns regarding the review results, the Editorial Board will evaluate the objectivity and quality of the review. If necessary, additional reviewers may be assigned.
Additional reviewers may also be involved if there are significantly conflicting recommendations between reviewers. The final decision regarding manuscript acceptance rests solely with the Editor-in-Chief.
2. Responsibilities
2.1 Authors’ Responsibilities
Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original, have not been published previously, and are not under consideration by other journals. Simultaneous submission to multiple journals is considered unethical and will result in rejection.
Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscripts and must ensure that their work does not violate any legal or ethical standards, including plagiarism and copyright infringement.
All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the manuscript. Contributions from non-authors should be acknowledged appropriately.
Authors are required to properly cite all sources that influence their work, using the journal’s citation style. Any direct quotations or adapted materials must be clearly indicated.
If authors identify significant errors in their published work, they are obligated to inform the editorial team promptly and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions.
Authors should also disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the research or its interpretation. By submitting a manuscript, authors agree to comply with the editorial policies of Edunomia.
2.2 Editorial Responsibilities
The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for making final decisions on manuscript acceptance based solely on academic merit, without discrimination of any kind.
Editors must avoid conflicts of interest and ensure a fair and unbiased review process. All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents.
Editorial staff are responsible for maintaining the anonymity of authors and reviewers throughout the review process.
2.3 Reviewers’ Responsibilities
Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of manuscripts. Their assessment should focus on the originality, relevance, methodology, and academic contribution of the work.
Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest and decline to review manuscripts outside their expertise.
They should identify relevant literature not cited by the authors and provide suggestions for improvement. However, reviewers must not request citations for personal or unjustified reasons.
All manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential and must not be used for personal purposes.
3. Ethical Publishing
3.1 Handling Unethical Behavior
Any suspected unethical behavior may be reported to the Editor-in-Chief along with supporting evidence. All allegations will be handled confidentially and fairly.
If misconduct is confirmed, it may be classified as minor or serious. Minor issues may result in warnings or corrections, while serious violations may lead to retraction, submission bans, or notification to the author’s institution.
The journal follows ethical guidelines and best practices as recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics.
3.2 Plagiarism Policy
Edunomia strictly prohibits plagiarism in any form. All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software.
Plagiarism includes copying text, data, figures, or ideas without proper citation. Manuscripts with significant similarity (e.g., above acceptable thresholds) will be rejected immediately.
If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article will be retracted according to the journal’s policy.
