Publication Ethics
Justice Law, published by the Faculty of Law, Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro, is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics throughout the editorial and publishing process. This publication ethics statement is based on the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and serves as a guideline for editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher in ensuring integrity, transparency, and academic excellence.
Editors' Responsibilities
Editors are responsible for:
- Making publication decisions based on academic merit, originality, scientific contribution, and relevance to the journal's focus and scope.
- Evaluating manuscripts fairly without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
- Avoiding and disclosing conflicts of interest.
- Addressing allegations of publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, and citation manipulation.
Reviewers' Responsibilities
Reviewers are expected to:
- Provide objective, constructive, independent, and timely reviews.
- Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts under review.
- Identify relevant published work that has not been cited.
- Notify the editor of any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, or other ethical concerns.
- Decline the review if any conflict of interest exists.
Authors' Responsibilities
Authors are required to:
- Submit original, accurate, and ethically conducted research.
- Ensure that the manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
- Properly acknowledge all sources used in the manuscript.
- Refrain from plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, image manipulation, and duplicate publication.
- Include as authors only those who have made significant scholarly contributions.
- Disclose funding sources and any potential conflicts of interest.
- Cooperate in responding to reviewers' comments and revising manuscripts when required.
Publisher's Responsibilities
The Faculty of Law, Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro, as the publisher, is committed to:
- Supporting editorial independence.
- Maintaining transparency and integrity throughout the publication process.
- Ensuring that editorial decisions remain free from external influence.
- Upholding internationally recognized standards of scholarly publishing.
Plagiarism Policy
Justice Law has zero tolerance for plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or other forms of publication misconduct will be rejected or retracted according to the severity of the violation.
Conflict of Interest
Editors, reviewers, and authors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal relationships that could influence the publication process. Individuals with conflicts of interest should withdraw from the editorial or review process.
Corrections and Retractions
Justice Law may publish corrigenda, errata, expressions of concern, or retractions when significant errors or ethical violations are identified after publication, in accordance with the COPE guidelines.
