Journal of English Education and Entrepreneurship (JEEP)

Purpose

The Journal of English Education and Entrepreneurship (JEEP) recognizes that Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools can support research, writing, language editing, data analysis, and other scholarly activities. To maintain academic integrity, transparency, and accountability, JEEP requires authors to disclose the use of AI tools in the preparation of their manuscripts.

General Principles

  1. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and content of their submitted manuscripts.
  2. AI tools may be used as assistive technologies but cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.
  3. Authors are responsible for reviewing, verifying, and correcting any AI-generated content before submission.
  4. The use of AI must not violate research ethics, copyright regulations, data confidentiality, or intellectual property rights.
  5. Authors must ensure that AI-generated content does not contain fabricated information, inaccurate citations, plagiarism, or misleading interpretations.

Permitted Uses of AI

Authors may use AI tools for:

  • Language editing and grammar correction;
  • Improving readability and style;
  • Translation assistance;
  • Literature organization and summarization;
  • Data analysis support;
  • Coding assistance;
  • Generating visualizations or figures, where appropriate and properly disclosed.

Prohibited Uses of AI

Authors must not use AI tools to:

  • Fabricate data, results, references, or citations;
  • Manipulate research findings;
  • Generate fraudulent peer reviews;
  • Produce content that violates ethical standards or copyright laws;
  • Submit AI-generated content without proper verification and disclosure.

Disclosure Requirements

Authors must clearly indicate whether AI tools were used in the preparation of the manuscript.

Option 1: No AI Used

If no AI tools were used, authors should include the following statement during submission:

AI Disclosure Statement: The authors declare that no Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools were used in the writing, analysis, preparation, or editing of this manuscript.

Option 2: AI Used

If AI tools were used, authors should include the following statement:

AI Disclosure Statement: The authors declare that Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools were used during the preparation of this manuscript. The AI tool(s) used, including their purpose, are described below. The authors have reviewed and verified all AI-assisted content and accept full responsibility for the manuscript's content.

Authors should then provide:

  • Name of AI tool(s): ______________________
  • Version (if applicable): __________________
  • Purpose of use: __________________________
  • Sections affected: _______________________

Example:

AI Disclosure Statement: The authors used ChatGPT (OpenAI) to assist with English language editing and improvement of manuscript readability. All content was reviewed, revised, and verified by the authors, who take full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the manuscript.

Editorial Assessment

The editorial team may evaluate disclosed AI use during the review process. Failure to disclose significant AI use may result in:

  • Request for clarification;
  • Manuscript revision;
  • Rejection of the manuscript;
  • Retraction of a published article in cases of serious ethical misconduct.

Reviewer and Editor Use of AI

Reviewers and editors should not upload confidential manuscript content to public AI platforms if doing so may compromise confidentiality, copyright, or intellectual property rights. Any use of AI during editorial evaluation must comply with the journal's ethical standards.

Effective Date

This policy applies to all manuscripts submitted to the Journal of English Education and Entrepreneurship (JEEP) on or after the date of publication on the journal website.
