Authors are strongly discouraged from withdrawing manuscripts after they have been submitted, as withdrawal wastes valuable editorial and reviewer resources. However, MJVBM recognizes that legitimate reasons for withdrawal may arise. This policy governs the withdrawal process.

1. Withdrawal Before Peer Review
Authors may request withdrawal at any time before the manuscript is sent for peer review, without penalty. The request must be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief through the journal's official email, signed by the corresponding author on behalf of all co-authors.

2. Withdrawal During Peer Review
If authors wish to withdraw a manuscript that is already under review, they must submit a formal written request stating the reason. Because reviewers have already committed time and effort, such requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. Repeated or unjustified withdrawals may affect the consideration of future submissions by the same authors.

3. Withdrawal After Acceptance
Withdrawal after a manuscript has been accepted is not permitted except under exceptional circumstances (for example, confirmed scientific error or ethical concern). Requests must be approved by the Editor-in-Chief.

4. Unethical Withdrawal
Withdrawing a manuscript from MJVBM in order to submit it to another journal after favorable reviews have been received is considered a breach of publication ethics. Such conduct may be reported to the authors' institution.

5. Procedure
All withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief and must include: the manuscript title and ID, the names of all authors, and a clear justification. The editorial office will confirm the withdrawal in writing once approved.
