AI Usage Policy

PROFETIK recognises that artificial intelligence tools can support research and writing. Their use must not, however, replace the authors’ intellectual contribution, critical analysis, or accountability.

1. Permitted Uses

  • Language editing, grammar, and spelling checks
  • Help organising ideas or manuscript structure
  • Literature exploration and identification of relevant topics
  • Data processing or analysis under the authors’ supervision
  • Translation support and preparation of supporting tables or summaries

2. Prohibited Uses

  • Fabricating, falsifying, or manipulating data or findings
  • Generating non-existent references
  • Fabricating or misquoting Qur’anic verses, hadith, or the opinions of Islamic scholars
  • Misrepresenting interpretations of the Qur’an, hadith, or classical Islamic literature
  • Producing a manuscript without meaningful intellectual involvement of the authors

AI tools cannot be credited as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for all content.

3. Disclosure

Substantive use of generative AI (for example, generating or substantially rewriting text, analysing data, or synthesising literature) must be disclosed in the Acknowledgments or a separate Declaration of AI Use, naming the tool and its purpose. Routine spelling and grammar checkers and reference managers do not require disclosure.

4. Reviewers and Editors

Reviewers and editors must not upload manuscripts or confidential material to AI platforms that do not guarantee confidentiality, and must not delegate evaluation or decisions to AI.

5. Editorial Assessment

Editors may check for fabricated sources and misuse of AI. AI-detection scores alone are not treated as conclusive evidence of misconduct; decisions rest on careful evaluation of the evidence.
