Conflicts of Interest

1. Authors

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, or academic relationship that could be perceived as influencing the work, including funding sources and roles in the institutions studied (for example, a teacher researching his or her own school). Where none exists, the statement reads: “The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

2. Reviewers

Reviewers must decline the invitation, or declare the conflict to the editor, when they have a close relationship with the authors, have supervised or examined the author’s thesis, or have competing interests in the topic.

3. Editors

Editors may not handle manuscripts by their own students, supervisees, close colleagues on the same project, or family members. Such manuscripts are reassigned to a non-conflicted editor.

4. Editor-Authored Submissions

Editors may publish in PROFETIK, but their submissions receive the same double-blind review, are handled by another editor, and are not overseen by the submitting editor at any stage.
