Allegations of Misconduct

PROFETIK follows the Core Practices and flowcharts of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Indonesian Code of Ethics for Scientific Publication (Peraturan Kepala LIPI No. 5 Tahun 2014), which upholds the values of neutrality, justice, and honesty.

1. Types of Misconduct

  • Fabrication or falsification of data
  • Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism and translation plagiarism
  • Duplicate or redundant publication
  • Authorship manipulation (guest, gift, or ghost authorship)
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest
  • Manipulation of citations or of the peer-review process
  • Misrepresentation of Qur’anic verses, hadith, or other religious sources
  • Research involving people without appropriate consent or permission

2. Reporting

Allegations can be sent to [email protected] by anyone, including readers, reviewers, and authors. Reports should identify the article and describe the concern with available evidence.

3. Handling

The Editor-in-Chief or a designated non-conflicted editor assesses whether the allegation is specific and credible, then follows the relevant COPE flowchart. Authors are given a fair opportunity to respond before any decision is made.
