Reviewer Guidelines

1. Before Accepting

Reviewers should accept an invitation only if they have the relevant expertise, can complete the review within three weeks, and have no conflict of interest.

2. Evaluation Criteria

  • Relevance to the scope of Islamic Religious Education
  • Originality and contribution (novelty)
  • Clarity of the research problem and objectives
  • Appropriateness and rigour of the method
  • Accuracy of data, analysis, and interpretation
  • Correct use and citation of Qur’anic verses, hadith, and Islamic scholarly sources
  • Quality and currency of references
  • Clarity of language and structure

3. Writing the Report

Reports should be specific, respectful, and constructive. Because many authors are students, reviewers are encouraged to explain how weaknesses can be improved. Personal remarks are not acceptable.

4. Recommendation

Reviewers recommend one of: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, Resubmit for Review, or Decline. The recommendation is advisory.

5. Ethical Concerns

Reviewers who suspect plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, or ethical problems should inform the editor confidentially instead of investigating themselves.
