Appeals

1. Grounds

Authors may appeal a decision when they believe that it was based on a factual error, a misunderstanding of the manuscript, a procedural irregularity, or an undisclosed conflict of interest. Disagreement with the outcome alone is not a ground for appeal.

2. Procedure

  • Submit an appeal letter to [email protected] within 30 days of the decision, stating the manuscript ID and the specific grounds.
  • The appeal is examined by an editor not involved in the original decision, who may consult an additional reviewer.
  • A response is given within 30 days of receipt of the appeal.

3. Outcome

The appeal may uphold the decision, request further review, or reverse the decision. The outcome of an appeal is final. Only one appeal per manuscript is considered.
